tag in your page content, the module will automatically break your one page in to multiple virtual pages. All the content is managed from as one page in the system, but will appear as multiple pages on the site.

Page Title - You can specify a page title that is seperate from the link title. This lets you have a longer page title while still keeping the navigation short.

Upgrade - There is an upgrade script included to upgrade your current database to the latest schema.

The comments are owned by the author. We aren't responsible for their content.

Superb work! Just the ticket for static content, and the page header images are really useful too!

What would be really useful also, would be to associate various blocks with specific static pages. (as opposed to being associated with the entire module) I was thinking to run an iframe in a block on a particular page - but perhaps I should write it into the page itself.

I haven't tested fully with php 5, so I'd stick with php4. If you'd like to do some php5 testing or development, I'd be glad to take a look at any bugs you find.

I haven't test the module with any XOOPS versions other than the 2.0 branch, I've used it with 2.0.14, 2.0.15 adn 2.0.16. If you have problems with the install, you can roll back to older versions of the module. New fields were added to the database, but it wasn't restructured.

I considered the block association part, but since that functionality was part of XOOPS 2.2, I'm assuming it will be part of 2.3 when it comes out.

The block association is something different from the core blocks system, as I see it. Basically, if you have used Drupal CMS you will know about a block system called 'Side content'

It works by adding an extra input editor field after the main article input. Any content in this field will display in a side block against that article only.

Associating unique side block content against each article is very useful for a variety of reasons;

1- dedicated reference material
2- targeted ads. for that article
3- Supplementary information
4- 'see also' links to other articles

Using google ads and subject channels allows better targeting of ads if linked to article subjects.

regardless of which content-made link I click, I always get the same content... The url id # is diffent but the content on the page remains the same!

This mod looks like it has a lot of great features... hope to get this working soon.

the problem seems to occur on both PHP 4 & 5

You can do this in the wiwimod wiki module. Being able to attach sidebar content to an article without having to use a WYSIWYG template is indeed useful.

Sorry to be a dumbass, but how do I go about upgrading my old content module to the new?

I get a message that says: "You need to upgrade your installation of Content. Please use the upgrade page" - How would I successfully upgrade, thus getting rid of that message?

Well I wasn't able to upgrade it, so I uninstalled it and installed a fresh version.

Thanks for going through the effort of updating this great module, but I think I'm gonna stick with the old version. I'm not too keen on the changes in the new version.
The process of creating a new page seems too long; it goes through 3 phases:

Select add content -> select type content -> submit.
Then, select manage content -> click on the page you made -> edit page -> submit.
Then, page permissions -> Select your new page -> highlight all options - > submit.

And when I edit a page, I have to set the permissions all over again otherwise it doesn't appear. I don't know if that's a bug or whether you meant for it to be like that.

Though, maybe one bug I did come across is that the Add Content link doesn't seem to work in IE 6. After I select the content type, nothing else happens. The WYSIWYG editor doesn't appear.
(The add page-wrap function doesn't seem to work in either IE or Firefox for me)

It Should actually be fewer steps to create a new page. When you select the type of content, you should get the additional form fields you need for that specific type of content. no need to click the submit button. You also have the option to set the permissions from the add and edit pages, so you don't need to go into the permissions area you can just set the permissions as you edit the page.

I see you're using IE 6. Are you getting any javascript errors or problems. I've tried it several times and it seems to be working fine for me. When I select a type of content, the new fields are getting added to the system and working. I tested on IE6, IE7, FF1.5 and FF2 on PC and Mac. If you can give me more details of your exact experience. If you'd like to caht via IM, PM me an we can setup something

After downloading the second version my issue about content id #s has corrected itself. Thanks!

I am currently trying to understand the FCKeditor upload setup. I've tried to set the chmod on any folder that I can think of but nothing seems to work. When I am editinga page I click on the imagee icon and the image properties-webpage dialog box pops up. If I click 'browser server I just get an empty dir folder. If I try to create a new folder I get the message "You have no permission to create the folder." If I browse my hard drive and then click 'upload' I get "erro, 'overdisk quota, unable to determine the size of a folder.file"

Any suggestions?

I understand that this module uses FCK Editor, but troubleshooting FCK Editor should really be done in the module troubleshooting forum. Doing so here could start a *very* long discussion. The XOOPS comments threads have a limited capacity before they break.

Okay how do I make the ADD content function work? All I get is a blank page when I select it.

This sounds great. I can't wait to try it out. Have you tried implementing the TinyMCE editor? It has a photo plugin with a really nice interface for dealing with images - you can crop them, resize them, etc. It has a file manager plugin too which I think will link to other files, although it sounds like you have already improved fckeditor in that area.

Hi

Does it do html please? It seems not - if not is there a way around this please? I have been trying to add static content for a while but keep coming up against not being able to add pages. Maybe I have some sort of permissions problem because I can't add news even though I have added news topics!

I´m having some problems with content 1rc1, i just can´t install de module.
Re-download and re-uploads content 1rc1 files any times and when i try to install i had back a blank screen.

The content 0.5 was working so good.

my configuration is:
xoops 2.0.15 in a online server and,

Hey Everybody, I've been reading back through the issues. The best thing to do is get the latest version from subversion. There are many little tweaks tha have cleared up bugs and issues. you can find the files athttp://www.idiotsabound.com/Content. If you are not familiar with subversion, you can find a list of clients herehttp://subversion.tigris.org/links.html#clients

You'll want to export the project, then you'll have all the most recent pages.

hi when i add a page in greek, the greek letters are stored as they should in the database but when i try to edit the content they appear as html entities (html code) in the source page of the editor! I have edited the config file of the fck editor and yet nothing changed! any ideas why this happens?
