Hello fellow XOOPS-ers,

I've recreated a theme for my LenoirMind :: art & (web) design portal and I've also modified the excellent Smartsection module into a -well- smartersection module. It now uses the metakeywords as a means to do flexible crosslinking between items within smartsection, but it also spans to other modules (debaser for instance for audio and video)

The portal focusses on artistic expressions as well as technological and scientific perspectives on these. I use the portal and additional applications I build for my artistic research that I undertake with different organisations. In this collaboration network LenoirMind.nl acts as a node for artistic information.

Lots of content is available only in dutch, but I've managed to keep the front page mostly english.

Thanx for this excellent CMS system! And it's supporting OO framework

XOOPS will be the CMS I'll be pushing as the main system acting as an 'information node'.

I really like your site.
The theme (for me) displays in firefox correct, but in IE, I see a big blank space on the right and content only when I scroll down.

Thanks for pointing this out Svaha,

I didn't check it with IE, but there are similar errors when viewing certain modules (Docuwiki and the forum) in firefox.

I'll be diving into the html - not my 'native language'

Yep, I preferred your first site theme, but this one has all the qualities and artistic style. One anoying point; In smartsection, opening music tracks loads the player page in the same page. This means we cant browse the rest of the site untill we have heard the track, then we need to page history back. Use "target=_blank" would be a better idea

Hi carnuke,

Do you mean in smartsection when browsing through the sections/items in the section music? These links are embedded in the html text of the article. Hence the display behaviour. I will add the target setting though. Thanks for pointing towards that.

I am associating audio files to keywords. For example: Audio metaphor will show an article with links in the html that point to audio files as described above.

But in the block 'keyword related items' you should also see an icon that indicated associate audio (if any). Clicking on one of these should popup a little window with a quicktime player (if installed). Associated quicktime video should show a little qt icon.

I am still working on this 'weaving' of things, so not all my music will show up as an audio metaphor. Eventualy I will probably remove the articles with embedded links to audio I think.

He/she need to add the align top command to the html o css so the content does show on the top and without that big blank space

beside that, i think the theme is really nice

Another point, seeing we are making artistic critique: I am not sure I like fully justified text in the side panels (home page) I understand this cleans up the left and right margins, but it also creates erratic spacing with the text.

For example look under "(Re) Generating musical aspirations" now go down to "chalenging and mind-stretching" the word spacing here is really 'off' in order to achieve the justification.

Mm, its a hard choice, have you tried left align for these panels? Another idea is attempt hyphen joins to split long words...

Zeroram is correct also about the css spacing. It's ok in mozilla, but screws up in IE7

Many thanks for the comments. I appreciate the feedback.

Regarding the text layout. After checking it out, I think you may be right. I'll start playing with this after christmas and my moving from one home to the other (physical ones I mean)

Regarding the big white space; i've been plodding through the html to figure out where to set which 'vertical-align' to 'top'. Perhaps I have been mixing up some div's... I suspect this will take some time. Could you send me the link to the location where it screws up? I'll boot my winxp emulator and check (I use os-x)

If anyone has some hints regarding this please share this hint with me . I am not a native html coder, but am more at home in java/lisp/c++/php

Hi all,

Most problems when displaying in IE seemed to be caused by conflicting block sized and a chunk of AJAX related generated javascript code that for some reason ended up before the <head> of the page. Even outside the <html> tag... Most problems are fixed now.

You were right about the text justification of the blocks. Left align looks much more 'peaceful'.
