Re: Japanfile site updates themeBe carefull while i was reading a post on this article, i went there and i saw that the theme directory is open to anyone, that's why someone went there and stole the theme> Can someone contact the webmaster and tell him to secure his directory, otherwise everybody with badfs habbits are going to steal his beautiful theme

Re: Japanfile site updates themeIndeed very nice. Just one small comment on the used centerCblocks (Selected KTO Articles, JapanFile Weblog: Recent Posts) and its font: IE6 the textfonts aren't readable. This is the same within the block right of PiCal within an event.
Please check it.
Re: Japanfile site updates themeThank you all for your positive comments and the warning about my failure to protect the themes folder. Apparently, the theme was up for grab for those who wanted 
, but now I have protected the themes folder.
We really got a lot of hits after this post. Normally we get a few hundred per day, but yesterday we had 25000 hits.
I'll discuss with nathan whether he wants to share the design.

Thanks for your feedback.
Nathan told me he was using some sort of Flash text replacement tool, which gave full control over the fonts. It takes a while to load the text with the Flash and the server is a bit slow. If you don't have Flash, then it will show the text directly.
I had a look at my IE6, and it takes a while before it shows.
We'll look into it further.

I am mainly a designer - not much of a programmer - but I have been very impressed with the power and flexibility of Xoops.
As most of us know, anyone who tells you that a specific CMS is the answer to all your problems is probably exaggerating. They all have shortcomings and need to be tweaked a bit to meet your needs. It is not 'easy' to create a XOOPS theme that is unique and looks drastically different than the default themes, but it IS a little easier than with other CMS solutions I've used.
I have worked with Plone, WordPress, MovableType, Mamba, and Radiant...and so far I think XOOPS is my favorite. With a little PHP knowledge and some XHTML and CSS, you can really get interesting results. If you have any questions about how I did certain things with the JapanFile theme, please post your questions here, or email me and I can try to help. I apologize in advance, however, if I take a long time to reply.
Also: thanks for the tips on some of the bugs in the code. I will try to fix those small fonts in IE6 - there is some CSS conflict happening there that I will address soon. If you find any other issues, please let me know! We are still experiencing a few migration issues, but I think the site is 95% in working order, due mostly to Marco's excellent work moving the database around.

I request u to come forward and design a few breathtaking XOOPS themes for FREE since now that we know u enjoyed working with XOOPS and find it easy to configure than other CMS. I hope u will give it a thought and come up with our high expectations.
