none of the free themes are really good.

Yes its displayed with a price on the frontpage. However if you enter the download area it is freely available for download.
So instead of fighting over it i sent them a mail asking to change that oversight on the frontpage.
Can we go back to happy mode instead of each others throats again?

if you see the date of that news, it was released on OCT 2005. and the theme was liberated a few days ago only.i agree i forgot to edit the OLD news. (but i dont think is a big deal for you to complaing big time, for soemthing that can be downloaded and is Free)
also in that news, if you click on READ MORE... and go to download the theme, it will show you a link.

My post pertains more to the condescending attitude in the post. Gestroud mentionned the error in his comment. It should have been verified and acknowledge by Zero. Something like "Sorry folks, forgot to change the info page." Not "please visit the site and take a closer look before saying is not FREE"

Now I look at the different themes and start to think "is the $30 theme a lower quality work than that $45 theme". And if the theme is "liberated" now, does it mean it was lower "quality" work.
Re: 1 Free Xoops Themes - wrong infoThis entire post is becoming much ado about nothing. Seems to happen alot when an article regarding paid themes is published. A mistake was made and now it is corrected.
Let's get back to the original article post...
Zeroram, thank you for providing the community with both FREE and PAID themes and for allowing users to have a choice. As a designer myself, I know we continually evolve in our learning concept and produce themes of high quality, whether they are free or paid. There is an article posted here that discusses the difference between free and paid themes.

Re: 1 Free Xoops Themes - wrong infoZeroram, have you tried the Vitamin C admin theme for 2.2* it really makes the back end friendly and visually intuitive. Also quite an easy theme to edit the header in theme.html.
Re: 3 Paid and 1 Free Xoops ThemesNice looking themes Zeroram :) I myself design themes too, but haven't been doing it as long as some other xoopsers but I love doing it and I know a lot of work goes into making themes if you make your own graphics as well. I've only put out 10 Themes so far, all free themes. they've been received well enough I think but you can't please everyone though.
I'm thinking of starting to make paid themes once I figure out the best way to ensure the buyer gets product quickly and securely. I will still be making free themes tho because I think making both available to users is the best way to go :)
Anyway, I just wanted to say, I've looked around your site and seen some nice themes you've made. Keep up the good work :) cheers.... tc l8r :)
