The “Article” module is a new content management module for Xoops 2.2+, contributed by the “Article Module Team“.

does this work with old newbb? the previous version (alpha 2) didnt let me install if I had newbb...

well, it still doesnt work with newbb (the classic newbb). anyone knows why is this? any workarounds?

right after choosing the groups and users who can admin/see (first screen of instalation) it gives this error on submit:

is there an option to list (sort) articles by date, popularity or even alphabetically? (like all articles with titles beggining with A, B, C, etc). I cant see it so far, but this is quite complex and powerfull, so maybe its there in some way...or is that a feature beyond the needs of an article system? (I would use something like that, but maybe its just me)

suggestions I have :
- googlesitemap system just for articles (google lets you have more than 1 sitemap per site i belive) were all articles are in the sitemap file (optional select/deselect option) and when a new article is added the system will automacally ping google with the new sitemap (part of the sitemap system) (maybee set to ping once per day max for sites with high turnover of articles)
- give the users the option to view images or not (know this could be done by images, but for sites that review items that need a large number of screenshots/photos etc it could be a bandwidth saver)

thats it, a amazing module loving every bit of it :d

I believe that is far the best article module for xoops, I’d like to now when "Article" will be ready for production sites?

I installed the Alpha 3 and I have a blank page when I put somewhere an Article block. When I activate the PHP debug I see the following error:

My system runs on Win32/Apache server. Until Alpha 2 I didn't had any problem. Only when I update to Alpha 3.

Hello souidas.

There should be defined $myts variable (text sanitizer) before this function. Add this

$myts =& MyTextSanitizer::getInstance();

before 613 error line. It is not clean, but safe and correct until this bug will be fixed. There are more minor bugs, I'll try to report them to phppp.

@patagon: there are options for listing articles in a block

@jonsimmonds: googlemap would be an interesting feature. "option to view images or not", will be evaluated before Alpha's end.

@kakos: we are not able to estimate the time of Article RC release. We roughly plan to publish Article Beta when XOOPS 2.3 Beta is ready and Article RC with XOOPS 2.3 RC. It depends on the timeline of XOOPS 2.3. (I am going to implement Article on a product site based on XOOPS 2.2, but won't release the XOOPS 2.2 based version).

At the first page's blocks the URL_DELIMITER dosn't work like the others modules pages. Of course I have the "Enable URL rewrite" active. I see the "?" not "/" like the other pages. Can any body help how to fix it?

the "URL rewrite" is somehow at an experimental stage, we expect a formal/stable solution once XOOPS 2.30 is ready to go.
Even for the current solution, it is not complete yet, we hope to fix as much as possible in alpha 4 or 5.

look at www.esathena.gr. Now the URL rewrite it WORKS. I made a small trick I just replace the <{$smarty.const.URL_DELIMITER}> in the block_template of the article list with just one "/".

Until we will find the solution I can use this small trick.

Its nice ah???

Do you think its time to put the site at the YAXS of the xoops.org?
