XOOPS: SourceForge.Net is being filtered for Persian Internet users.

A traditional filtering act of Iranian officials harmed Xoopsers also. Yesterday, Aug 8th, 2005, Internet Service Providers in Iran were orderd to filter SourceForge.Net Preventing Persian users to download Xoops. The reason behind this act is unclear. SourceForge.net, the biggest Open Source website, has been hosting the Xoops and many other programs for years and its censorship may cause trouble for open Source Projects' users.
Hopefully this website will be removed from the Iranian Internet blocklist and the ones who had problems downloading such a great and free program will get their right to do so.

We had ever the same experiences from inside China.
Fortunately, I head that the filtering for SF has been removed.

Although with my request,some ISPs accepted to remove SF.NET from the blocklist, I am thinking of uploading XOOPS to a website which is not banned, this may help persian users to download Xoops.

I know it uses alot of bandwidth and that's why I am searching different websites which offer free hostings, I prefere not to upload it on Farsixoops.com since it might cost alot of bandwidth. Another problem is that most of these free hostings are also blocked by Iran. I think this is actually FILTERNET instead of INTERNET!

yeah, as I said beforem this network shoud be called FILTERNET since every website is being filter(I think mine was filtered once,but for no reason ).

I think I could spare some bandwidth, but would that be a solution? Where do the Persian XOOPSers have to go with their questions if they can't access forums?
And I think you also should upload quite a few modules as well...

Farsixoops.com is avilable for persian users, and so they can use there for the support. Only SF.Net is blocked and so the Xoops' download links.

SF is not blocked by Persian ISPs.
I'm using one of the worst Censorship ISPs in Iran, but it hasn't blocked sourceforge.net and connection is available to this website.
As far as I know if a website goes on the blocklist, all ISPs will have the same effect on the website, because their SEND data transmission systems are supposed to be connected to the internet through the National Digital Data Network, so in the case that even if it was blocked (which I doubt, because I've been downloading from SF nearly everyday for about 2 years now), the website has been removed from the blocklist.
I reckon that this news might only be concerning only some very few number of ISPs.

Anyway, for those of you who are living in Iran, go ahead and enjoy SF & XOOPS.

I know that your ISP may have not banned SF.Net, this is because people like me contacted those ISPs and explained the situation about SF.net(I contacted three ISPs myself and they removed it[Parsonline,Fara rayaneh and DATAK]).
hopefully all will allow users to use SF.NET and so we can have a greater use of FILTERNET.
