btw, i posted a link here in the forums a while back to some nuke database backup tool (i suppose this is just an adaption of that anyways), that also works as a standalone, and should be very easy to wrap into a sytem admin module... tho its lacking a restore feature (just dump to sql...like nukes).

Somehow i understand your way of thinkig about signing in at all sites for the download section. However, think of the time someone spends on making some things that u could use at your site ?
I made about 30 preset pfs sets for the new galeria from uskola, you can download them without registring. many hours were spend making these images and sets. so a little recognition would be verry nice.
By the way Mr finalfiler....... your comment, "I don't know about you but I'm getting a little frustrated about having to register for every little download." looks a bit strange.
After all, your site doesn't have free downloads. You have to register for them 
so dont scream to load if i where you.

I strongly doubt you made those presets just to be nice and give to others, just as i made those hacks/modules for my own selfish self... i simply share them freely because they are made for something i got free myself: nuke/xoops
And secondly i don't want ppl stuffing my db with useless emails just so they can download If anyone registers for my site, its because they like the site, and i know they'll be back when they do register 
Big, active, resource packed sites get my semi-real email(a box which i actually do check from time to time), and small, inactive sites that lure me in with a DL and then ask for my email get my trashcan email which i just check the time it takes to grab the password 
Registering for "yet another theme", "yet another sideblock", "yet another repacked module", etc... is just plain rediculous. I mean just look at the time and effort that's gone into nuke/xoops (freely downloadable, when they could be making you PAY for it) ... and then some guys come along and ask you to register for some simple theme or whatever ..pff (i'd almost consider this insulting).
Anyways over 90% of the stuff i download, gets installed just the time it takes to give it a spin and then gets deleted (i mainly DL out of curiosity to see what others came up with, not out of need)....
And i DO greatly appreciate ppl who make things and then are willing to share their stuff. Hell, i'll even send ya a "wow man great job" email to say thanks if im really pleased with it ... so no need to pimp my email off me
P.S. the last 3 sites i signed up with to be able to dl something never even sent the confirmation email out ...so
Oh Ritch, and as far as i know.. finalfiler is commercial software and has nothing to do with XOOPS appart the fact that the site is running on xoops. Me too i have a commercial site on XOOPS and it offers nothing XOOPS related. All my free stuff is released on my gaming site.
