Hacks: FCKeditor Integration Pack

Hi Xoopsers,

I've integrated the well known FCKeditor 1.6 (compatible with IE5.5 + only) into Xoops system. With this pack you'll be able to turn your XOOPS site into an amazing WYSIWYG publishing machine.

The pack includes a detailed tutorial which explains how to use the editor with News, WF-Section and Soapbox modules for both admin and users side.

Last but not least I've also included a hack which lets you show the full-size images by clicking on the thumbnails inserted in your stories.

i have some Q please :

1- is FCKeditor support XOOPS new versions ?

2- is there any problem if i use this hack for my newbb ?

I know XOOPS 2.1 will have a new API which let you easily integrate external editors.
Btw,I'll keep this hack up-to-date.

I haven't tested the editor with newbb module but i guess you won't have any problem

I really wish it was cross browser compatible. Being IE only it is a show stopper.

FCKeditor seems to be cross browser (according to their site), so it is too bad that this XOOPS version is not.

The links are not broken and now they work.

There are many xoops' users using IE so this hack can be useful anyway.
FCKeditor 2.0 will be also Gecko compatible but
it's really buggy at the moment (beta1)
When a stable release is out,i'll integrate it into XOOPS too.

Please re-announce this when the Gecko compatible version is ready. It won't be of much interest to many of us until then.

There is no IE5.5 for Macintosh users available, so unfortunately we will not be able to use it.

Would be nice if a cross browser version would come out.
