To make a long story short:
I didn't remove the 'modules' folder physically, I used mod_rewrite on our apache server to rename my folders.
I then hacked the modules I use so that they would link to my 'virtual' folders.
eg.: in the wfchannel module I changed all references to the module folder from /modules/wfchannel to /contact.
It's not a pretty thing to do, but it works

We wanted to focus solely on our tourist pages in other languages. It's not our ambition as a city to translate all content in other languages.

Are these rules used in .htaccess in the root web folder or are they in the apache conf file?
