An Invision Power Board 1.23 (IPB) module has been made available for XOOPS 2.0.5.

What is IPB? Invision Power Board is one of the best Forums/Message Boards available for web sites period. It has been ported to a module for XOOPS by Koudanshi and can be found at www.bbpixel.com (formerly hosted at www.koudanshi.net).

On the www.bbpixel.com site you will find a volunteer support community that will assist you with the installation and upgrade. There are also converters to help you migrate from other Forums/Message Boards.

I'm living in Viet Nam, i write and read english very bad. sorry

i want use IPB with XOOPS 2.0.5. But IPB Module doesn't work with AgendaX module (calendal). Helppppp me...

Make sure that the files you are uploading actually overwrite those that you are uploading. That was the same problem some one bbpixel had, as well as a problem I myself had. The files needed to be uploaded one at a time (not the module but the system files, class files, ect because they were already there). After you do that, you shouldn't have much of a problem. However, keep your common.php file from the include directory. You may need to reinstall the old one. People have had problems with that one.

has anyone installed this bolletin board (IPB)

I have but after installed my template (fixed width) got distorted somehow. anyone same problem?

Yes, I used this for my site! It's very affective! Great job bbpixel.

Also, yet it was distorted but I fixed it.

Bah, IPB is $199 (or $69 if you only want to use it for a year).. yah after the year it still works but it isn't supported.

There are many good or better forums available that are open-source. phpBB is also an excellent choice for us who run free or no-profit websites.

IPB is available free to use, i think you mis read somewhere.

you only have to pay if you want to remove the copyright and have technical support..

btw the ipb on the invision site is a standalone version and doesn't integrate with xoops..

permission has been granted long ago for IPB to be modified and distributed for XOOPS integration which can be found at www.bbpixel.com

and the current version is 1.4e based on IPB standalone 1.31.. current IPB version 2 is being converted as we speak and will be available to use FREE in a short while..

and hmm it may not be supported by IPB themselves, but there are plenty of people who do support it free of charge on a volunteer basis even people who write IPB support it on their forums. and you'll get all the support you need on this site or over at bbpixel.com

but asking question after question after question without giving anything back in return is likely to "^%$& anybody off who offers support even in the open source communities..

Monty: if you look in the forums you'll see I've posted many fixes and hacks for people already so I AM GIVING BACK so if you want to flame me you can go ahead and !#@&!@ off now.

As to the IPB being free, I wasn't aware that there was a different IPB version being used for the integration mod, I thoguht it was the actual IPB. I admit I was ignorant of the details concerning IPB but first glance at the IPB site seemed to indicate a fee to license the software to use on a site. You have to actually go to the "free trial" page to see that you can download a somewhat limited version of IPB to try, with no support. Though, I've already talked about all this in the forums and I'm not going to repeat myself any further to someone who evidently just wants to be an ass about it.
Add that to the fact that bbpixel is still down.. hopefully the "cpu usage" problem isn't linked to his IPB module.

well 1stly i wasn't referring to u regarding the asking question after question etc.. it was just a general comment not directed @ anybody in particular.. so i'm sorry it came across that way :S it was purely mentioned because of the fact that support is offered on forums for it..

2ndly, no the cpu usage isn't linked to IPB.. the usage on ipb is pretty small actually :) i use it on my site without problems.

maybe we shud start again :)

I used the following two SQL statements to move my PMs from my old NEWBB to xIPB.

I set the status to 99 as a "flag" to ensure everyone got the right messages. Otherwise use "0" if you're moving to IPB for the first time.
