Normalized table names... Can this new version be used for updating older news installs?

It should, but please test locally, so we can be sure before it is release as Final.

Just copy the new version over your test files from the previous News version, and then run Update. The Update should rename the tables in the database.

Re: News 1.68 RC 1 released for XOOPS 2.5.5

Ok. I test locally using trunk:
https://sourceforge.net/p/xoops/svn/10987/tree/XoopsModules/news/
is this more updated?

from 1.67 to 1.68 everything goes fine. (but I should test in some more real environments)

I hope timgno remove many hardcodes from his version in 2.6

Is that "Normalized table names" a rule for all modules to follow? Anyway It is good to know what is what in database

Yes, that would be the plan. This way we know exactly which tables are module tables, and to which module they belong to

Re: News 1.68 RC 1 released for XOOPS 2.5.5

Xoops 2.5.5
Apache 2.2.23
MySQL 5.0.96-community
PHP 5.3.17

All installed and running well with no errors at all. The PDF maker works a treat

The only issue I'm having is the formatting of the "Recent News Block". For some reason the bullet is on a line above the post title. It should be on the same line. I can't seam to find the file I need to edit to fix this. It's not in the theme css. Where would I find the css for the recent news block?

Re: News 1.68 RC 1 released for XOOPS 2.5.5

Firefox and Opera do not display the "Recent News" block correctly. Safari, Chrome and IE display the "Recent News" block perfectly.

Can someone point me to the file I need to edit to make this block perform the way it was intended on all the major browsers :)
