i think you have uploaded wrong way the right pad is

/modules/content

inside this directory you must see the files like index.php and directorys

There are different "content" modules, some are much simpler, some are more complex.

Here are some potential modules to use:

- Content

- News

- Publisher

Try them out and see which one would be the best for your needs.

I think we first have to set somethings straight.

You installed CMS Xoops. This is ONLY the CMS. After installation of the CMS xoops (2.5.5) you cannot do anything. This because there are no modules involved within this pack. Which means there is also NO 'content' directory within the modules directory.
OK think this is now clear.
To go ahead you need modules. (as mamba mentioned some)
Download the module(s) you want. Unzip them then upload (ftp) within the directory 'modules' of the CMS.
Example:
You downloaded module conten. Unzip. You will see main dir 'content'. Within it several files and other dirs. Upload the whole main dir 'content' (ftp) within the module dir.

No go to your website the administration section. Choose modules. Right above you see install module. Click it. No you see modules you've uploaded but NOT installed yet.
Click on the green arrow of the module you want to install. The install module process will start up. (goes very fast)
And no,.....go to the module within the adminsection and go ahead.

This is how it works.
