trying to install the XFGuestbook, does not show up in my Modules Admin page.

I did notice a message right above the list of modules that says:
install the latest altsys

what does that mean.

I also turned on the debug in pop up mode and it does not list any errors.

I put the same XFGuestbook files on a second site that I have and it works fine.

running Xoops ver. 2.3 on both sites

Help please.

Some modules needs Framework/alternate system module. U can get it from GIJOE site http://www.xoops.peak.ne.jp/index.php?easiestml_lang=xlang:en

I don't get it, that site is all in Chineese or something.

what causes a module not to show up in the admin/modules page.

what does Xoops look for?

U need install latest altsys module

PS it's japanese and U can turn site into eglish - just click en flag on top
