Hi, i would like to help the XOOPS project(programing something) but i can't find a "to do list" anywhere or reach and admin, what can i do?


btw i'm a semi-senior php programmer

Edit(because of 2 jokes of a friend): i dont want money and i dont have money xD

neogabo, Welcome to the XOOPS forum.

Sure, we can always use an helping hand.
It depends also a bit on your qualifications, PHP, CSS, Javascript, ... or what you like to do.

There is no such thing as a todo list but:
As always there are some bugs to tackle.
There are some little projects as the image manager.
Helping people with their old modules (move to PHP5).
At Babylon, there are some modules to test.
If you are good in documenting (writing documentation that is), then there are some articles etc to write for WiKi, FAQ, etc

Ways enough to keep busy!

You can also play with modules, find what you like and make your on fork, or join the module team. :)

Let me ask one more thing, is there something that is not developed for XOOPS yet? i mean a module to do something, i need an idea xD

i can use Php, Css, Javascript, Html, Xml, but would be great program something.

What i can't do is speak well in english xD. I'm from Argentina

Once again, thank you for you willingness to help!

What would be your preference:

a) brand new module development
b) update of an existing module to Web 2.0 and PHP5
c) merging of 2-3 existing modules into a new one
d) port a module from another CMS system to XOOPS

due to the fact that i don't know what XOOPS needs more, just shoot! xD

(the a option would be great :P, but i don't know what to do)

OK, that what you could do:

a) brand new module development

Real Estate module

c) merging of 2-3 existing modules into a new one

Business Directory (merging of xdirectory, mxdirectory, and efqdirectory). It could be a brand new module as well.

A social network module, like yogurt but than without bugs and more attractive
