hi, when i used 2.2 i used this kind of urlhttp://www.mysite.com/modules/profile/search.php?source_language=Spanish&target_language=Russian&op=results to save profile search results. where source_language and target_language are custom fields and Spanish and Russian are their options. what is the search result url going to look like in 2.4? thanks in advance

Humm, there is more than that, what is not working!

If you ask for a popular combination as eg Russian - English, then the first 20 of a lot of search results are shown. At the bottom there is a page navigator, which 'forget' the required language pair and on the next page lists some users.

Maybe try by replacing with the original 2.2 search.php

(PS your site is extremely slow at loading > 30s)

i've upgraded my XOOPS from 2.2 several months ago to 2.3 and my search didnt work at all. then i upgraded it to 2.4 yesterday. so replacing with the original 2.2 didn't work.
