How can i delete the NEW Topic image.

Hi all,

I think there is a way of removing the new post and poll image from those viewing the forum coz i dont want people to have a chance of starting new topics there.
I have attached an image to show what i mean.

If you look properly you can see the forum is UK and all others are subforums.

I dont want guys to start topics here but only inside the subforums.

The image is not accessible. Try to explain what you want.

Hi ghia,
I have sorted out the image and its now accessible to show what i mean. Pls find some help.

Click on it with your right mouse button, and choose 'view image'. See the path in url bar. Then, go via ftp on your site, and change the desired image. Then, if it's not shown, select again view image, and if it's old one, then refresh the page (F5).

Then you should see new image.

disable javascript in your browser when you edit the forum permissions by group. .never mind that doesnt work with cbb

Hi Bandit-X,
On the issue of image i think its somewhere on the CBB template or .css thing.

Is there another way i can let people (start a topic) on the sub forum but not on the forum?

i guess you can edit the newbb_viewforum.html template so it wont show the buttons on all parent forums that have subforums.

maybe..
<{if !isset($subforum}>
buttons
<!-- only show the buttons if it doesnt have subforum -->
<{/if}>

On which specific lines do i have to edit?

I have tried my way but i got this.

Error: Smarty error: [in db:newbb_viewforum.html line 50]: syntax error: mismatched tag {/if}. (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 2324)

it seems i forgot to close the function. missing a ) .

<{if !isset($subforum)}>
buttons
<!-- only show the buttons if it doesnt have subforum -->
<{/if}>

the if statement should surround the location where the buttons are being displayed.
look for <{$forum_addpoll}><{$forum_post_or_register}> .

there could be other ways to disable the buttons, but that's one of the only easy ways i can think of. (maybe add it to the feature request and someone might pick it up)
