Hi, I am using XOOPS 2.3.2
I have successfully uploaded and installed some modules.
Today, I tried uploading Altsys .71, Pico 1.8 and Wraps 1.2
Altsys was uploaded but I cannot install it because I don't see the package.

In preperation for installing Altsys, etc., I have so far followed the instructions athttp://xoops.peak.ne.jp/md/mydownloads/singlefile.php?cid=1&lid=96&easiestml_lang=xlang%3Aen

In Mainfile.php my trustroot entry is default (I did not change it).

// Alias of XOOPS_PATH, for compatibility, temporary solution
define("XOOPS_TRUST_PATH", XOOPS_PATH);

Due to the problem, I have renamed the trust-root directory I created as well as the directories and files I uploaded according to the instructions for PICO 1.8.

I still cannot see the modules I have waiting to be installed.

I should at least be able to see forum as a module available to install.

Would attach a screen cap but don't seem to be able to attach files to discussions...

Thanks,

I had that problem!

First, you CAN install modules that you cannot see. You just have to know the correct code to type.

Second, see this discussion for how to find the offending uninstalled module and remove it!

You can figure out the code to type in from your other module installs or updates!

The option should be 'install'

The module name should be the name of the module.

I had a situation like this one time, because I had two "trust paths". You have to make sure that all your "trust" files are in one and only one directory, the /xoops_lib, or whatever you call it. And this has to be clearly defined in "mainfile.php"

Hi Nick James and Mamba,

Thanks for your notes...

I went to that discussion Nick James pointed me to and I turned on debug. I had no errors. Still, I reversed what I had done, in terms of trying to add altsys, pico and wraps. I also deleted the trust_path directory I had created.

Still no change.

I don't quite understand the 2nd post from Nick_James about the option should be "install" - I am not sure where I find that.

Re: Module Admin: Can no longer see modules waiting to be installed

Let me try explain again.

Until I fixed the problem, I found that I could install modules even if I could not see them.

On this page, you should be able to see all of the installed modules. If you mouse over the 'update' icon, you will see the code that will be typed if you click on the icon.

Select any 'update' module. Right click and 'copy link location' into your buffer.

Paste it into your web address box.

Say
Quote:

http://www.jazzpurr.org/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=update&module=vlweather

Now correct the line.

op = option...

You don't want to 'update', you want to 'install'. So change the option to read 'install'

You also don't want to install the module selected, you want to install the hidden module. You need to know the hidden modules name.

Replace the module name with the correct name.

Press return.

If the module is there and installable, it will start the install process.

If you were installing CBB, it would look like this:

Quote:

http://www.jazzpurr.org/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin&op=install&module=CBB

------------------------

It is no fun flying blind... But, until you find the problem, this may help you make progress.
