i searched, i found a membership module that i thought sounded promising, but the link to it is broken.

i'm wanting to set up XOOPS as a family network, and would like to add a few registration fields... one for date of birth, and one to that would allow them to state how they are related to the common ancestor.

is this possible?

furthermore, if adding those fields is possible, is there a way to integrate the birthdays automatically into a module like the extcalender?

christie, welcome to the XOOPS forum!

With the included profile module of XOOPS, you can define all extra fields you want. (There might maybe some issues with the date field.)
For the calendar, I'm afraid you have to duplicate them manually or with a (to be selfmade) script.

thanks! i'm still learning my way around in xoops... can you give me some directions-for-dummies on where to define the extra fields?

BTW, the second link takes me to a log in page with no registration option...

You define the fields in the admin part of the profile module.
For the link I see now the same login screen. (I assume Trabis is playing at his site )
He had also an account on Google Code, but it doesn't seem also no longer active.
But you can find his files also on SourceForge.
