I am running XOOPS 2.0.16.

Recently, I decided to change my website's domain name, but I left my database unchanged.

I also did the following:

- updated mainfile.php with the new XOOPS_URL
- deleted all files in /cache & /templates_c
- templates_c, cache, uploads are set to 777, mainfile.php is set to 666

I am able to access my website with the new domain and I am able to log into my administrator account from the main page. However, when I click on the Administrator Menu link (admin.php), it says 'You do not have the right to access this area'.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi superdave,

I've got the same problem. In the past I've done this several times in XOOPS 2.0.9.2. and now, with 2.3.x it doesn't work anymore.

I have opened the same thread in the german XOOPS forum and hope, there will be a solution soon.

If there is a solution I will inform you.

Greetings,
Goetz

Try using this url to get to the admin after you login, and let me know if the same thing happens?

http:mywebsiteaddress/modules/system/

Hiya,

I have not been able to duplicate this with 2.3 on my test server. However I will look at this later today and let you know if I find a fix for you.

You did delete all the files (except index.html) within the following folders?

xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache
xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile
xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache

and all folders are chmod to 0755 (Some servers will require 0777)

And which GUI for the admin are you using?

Hi catzwolf_,

I've deleted the whole Cache from all Cache-Folders and I'm using the default Admin-GUI.

In the german Xoops-Forum I have heard, that the problem exists by activated Protector and the deactivation and uninstallation of Protector will solve my problem.

I want to try this in the evening and will post the result here.

Greetings,
Götz

Many thanks for the info. Please let us know your results and if this is the case I feel someone should report this issue to GiJoe and hopefully he will write a fix for this problem.

Hi catzwolf_,

I have tried it in two steps:

1. Deactivating Protector - change URL: same problem exists
2. Uninstalling Protector - change URL: I've got my Admin menu, I've got the Admin-Access-rights, the Links in the Site are correct, but the Links in the Admin-Panel are incorrect (like "Modules", Blocks" etc.).

Wanted:
newdomain/modules/system/

But it shows:
olddomain/modules/system/

Is there a separate cache for the admin-panel? Or an entry in the database ? I've nothing found...

xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache, xoops_data/caches/smarty_compile, xoops_data/caches/xoops_cache are cleaned. Browsercache, too.

When I change the URL manually in the Browser-Window it works.

Hope, you've got a good idea. ;)

Götz

Okies,

1. Have you updated the System module? Try that if you haven't
2. All the cache folders have been changed to the ones I mentioned in a previous post and they should contain all the cache required for the running of Xoops. The old places would have been cache and template_c, but I doubt that clearing them may do anything.
3. Which GUI interface are you using for the admin area? Maybe try using another one and see if that helps?
4. Long Shot, clear your browser cache and cookies.

Check all the writeable folders are either 0755 or 0777 (Some Server providers prohibit the use of the latter.

That is really all I can think of at the moment, maybe something else will come to mind.

System module updated and all links are correct.

Thanks a lot catzwolf_
