Problem with custom block and custom module

I built a custom module, it is a dummy or empty module. I then used a custom block to write a topic to be displayed. I linked the custom block to the custom module. All works fine but, now if I want to edit the custom blocks content it doesn't show up in the blocks admin screen.

When I disable the custom module the custom block reappears in the admin screen. How can I correct this so I can edit the block and have it remained linked to the module?

Thanks

Rick

Hi Rick, what version of XOOPS are you using?
In my experience, sometimes the blocks are there in the Admin, you just have to select the right combination, e.g:

Blocks generated by,
Blocks visible in,
Groups access,
Visible (types)

So what might be happening is that when the module is disabled, the block acts as "orphan" and it's visible in the general view. When the module is enabled, the block is visible only when you select that module in the "Blocks visible in" drop-down menu.

I don't know if this is the case, but just a thought...

Thanks Mamba,

I was looking at the custom block in admin the wrong way. When I looked at the custom block and then selected the custom module all blocks and their contents appeared.

Thank You for you insite.

Rick
