Blank Index Page after Install

I just installed the new version of XOOPS on my server and I am getting a blank index page.

What do I do to fix this?

Yup - blank!

Are your /xoops_data folder and all sub-folders CHMOD 777?

What XOOPS/PHP/MySQL do you use?
What modules are installed?
Did you install it fresh, or did you upgrade an existing installation?

mysql:
5.0.51a-community
no modules are installed, it's a fresh install, not an upgrade.

If this was a fresh installation, then this is very strange!

Can you turn the debug on, as described in the above FAQ, and see if you'll get any errors?

I tried to do the query but it wouldn't let me. :( and I don't want to mess with the PHP code cuz I think i'd f it up somehow. lol.

check with checksum script if you uploaded all files from the package.
Do synergy or die.
