I posted this before but it never appeared and after posting I got a blank page. Maybe thats abug

Hello,

I have just found and installed Xoops.

What I am still fighting with is:

I would like to change the main menu and for that I went into admin....blocks...and tried to change system_block_mainmenu.html Unfortunately there is only a view button but no button to save the changes.

I have CHMODed the system_block_mainmenu.html file to 777 so that it could be overwritten.

So, whats wrong?

Yes, we had a database problem. It seems that it fixed now, but we're still testing.
Thanks for your patience.

Thanks, I didnt know that just in this moment there was a database problem. Bad luck, I guess.

So, how about my problem with the block HTMLS, all CHMODed to 777, but still not editable.

Hi,

you can't edit the default template set. You need to clone it and edit the clone. You need also to tell XOOPS to use the cloned one. Look here:

https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=490

Also you may need to clean the template cache for changes to be visible - delete all files EXCEPT index.html in template_c folder

Also for XOOPS versions 2.0.14+ you may use template override - look here how:

https://xoops.org/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3367
..

Thanks a lot.
That explains why.
Then I got no chance but every time edit the file on my computer and upload it.
Only that way it seems possible to script own links into the main menu.

Ok, I have done it.
Working now fine
Thanks.
