PLEASE HELP????? MY Sites Disapeared

Hi GUys,

Please urgently help me.
I uploaded XoopsProtector as I would any other module & before I could intall it my whole site has gone, both admin & front? All I get is a blank white page.

Can you help please?

Hi,

protector has a diferent install from other modules. What exactly you did so far? What version of protector?

Make shure you follow the readme. There are some tutorials here and at GiJoe site.

Hi,

Protector 2.5. I uploaded it to modules, changed the line in the mainfile.php

include( XOOPS_ROOT_PATH . '/modules/protector/include/precheck.inc.php' ) ;

but I did do this before installing the module which I now know was wrong.
I have deleted the file from modules.

ended up re installing.......painful!
But still haven't got protector on the site.

Firstly, that version of Protector is quite old now. The latest is 3.17beta and you can get it from here:
http://xoops.peak.ne.jp/md/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=105&cid=1

Don't worry that its a beta version - GIJOE says (in his Forums) that he'll be taking out of beta shortly

There are full installation instuctions here:

Follow the instructions to the letter and you'll be fine

Hi,

As JAV said this is old. I can add that it is not compatible with PHP5. As he sujested go for the latest ...



BTW, you didn't have to reistall. You could only remove
"include( XOOPS_ROOT_PATH . '/modules/protector...." and your site should be ok again.
