XcGal doesnt like decimal extention?

Ok lastnight i batch added a few hundered pics to the module.
They all went in just fine with no errors during the process so i left it at that.
Today i goto actually LOOK at some of the pics and
while using FIREFOX it tells me i am missing a plugin
while using IE it tells me almost the same

all the while,
the thumbnails show up ( with little pics )
the album list shows up ( with little pics )

but if actually want to open a page where the full pic shows
i get these errors.

I looked on the page and noticed the FILENAME for the pic is
"Whatever name" with a decimal point on the end of the name

however when i look at the file via FTP it is

"Whatever name" " decimal point" and "jpg or jpeg or gif etc

it seems the script keep stoping at the DECIMAL and doesnt know what hte file is because its not reading WHATEVER after the decimal

whatsup?

for now the only thing i can do is goto each album and click EDIT PICS
and remove the " . " from the end of each name
