Using index entries or list of contents in Smart Section

I have loads of articles with 200+ pages, I am using Smart Section version 2.13 and 2.12 to manage these. I need a list of contents either on a side (with IFrame), or any other way.
Can some one help, how I can do that?

Not sure, but maybe it's possible with one of the blocks.
I thought the categories were actually for this.

There seems to be a bug in SmartSections SpotLight block. See the changelog of SmartSection 2.14 beta here:

I stopped using SmartSection, because it slowed down my website. This was probably caused by the SpotLight block, but I am not sure about this.
