Just install solaris and then add the latest coolstack stuff in it which is Apache2, MySQL & PHP5.

And then unpack XOOPS httpdoc folder from latest stable installation zip file into apache httpdoc in skrips folder. I manage to execute the install script by browsing toohttp://localhost/skrips

anyway everything is smooth until

----------------------------------

check path & URL

There is a conflict between the detected physical path (/opt/coolstack/apache2/htdocs/skrips) and the one you input.
Physical path must be a directory.
Virtual path is not a valid URL.

The server path to your XOOPS root directory: XOOPS_ROOT_PATH
URL to your XOOPS root directory: XOOPS_URL

If the above setting is correct, press the button below to continue.

----------------------------------

I find this as weird because mainfile.php has been written correctly with the XOOPS_ROOT_PATH & XOOPS_URL value. So why the variables is printed there instead of the value?

The next page show same problem:

-------------------------------------

confirm database settings
Database Hostname XOOPS_DB_HOST
Database Username XOOPS_DB_USER
Database Name XOOPS_DB_NAME
Table Prefix XOOPS_DB_PREFIX

If the above setting is correct, press the button below to continue

-------------------------------------

Any take on this issue? I really one to try XOOP before moving on to Post-nuke, etc. Heard people say that XOOP is more user friendly.

But i need to go through this install hurdle.

TIA,

Hi...

I wish I could help you on this but have never been able to see one screen inside Solaris. I don't mean to jack your thread but could you answer a question?

I have always wanted to try Solaris. I have had S10 installed with every video card I own but none of them work.

Just out of curiosity what kind of video card do you have?

Hopefully someone else will come along to answer your question.

not sure either. is mainfile.php actually being included? (does it have the proper chmod permissions?)

off hand, i can't think of anything at mo.. does it happen right after install but still under the installation script, or is it occuring when you goto your homepage after the installation as finished..

Here is another take on the problem. You will need to solve this issue no matter what cms you use. This issue is not XOOPS related. It has something more to do with your server config. Imho
