Not sure what I did but I can not get my XOOPS site to send mail out. I have serveral XOOPS sites and all but one can send mail. I think I broke the mail function somehow. I am using smtpauth and all the sites use the same server so I know the server is working correctly and the smtp server is also working correctly. I have checked and double check the settings in the mail preferances on the site and they are exactly the same as my other sites.

When I try to mail users I get this error

SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

I'm thinking maybe I should manualy replace some of the files in the XOOPS installation maybe this will fix it? not sure but I'm not sure what files I should check or replace with the latest ones. The site has the latest XOOPS build but I am wondering if maybe somehow I broke the mail during the upgrade.

on a side note this site is about 6 years old and I have just upgraded it each time a newer version of XOOPS comes out.

I would recheck your configuration settings again just to make sure that they are 100% correct. Failing that, I would suggest that you use the orginal install files (Backup your work so far) and see if that works, if so then I would suggest that you do some code digging to find out the guilty file.
