Well good luck with that...

/insert personal gripe here
You know it really bugs me when people feel the need to disrespect XOOPS and the XOOPS community with statements like this. If you have issues that can't be resolved and you no longer care to use XOOPS anymore, fine...but why do people feel the need to make public statements like this to try and bring down the rest of the XOOPS community?
/end personal gripe

I obviously don't know the whole story behind this particular incident, so please accept my sincere apologies if my comments are totally off base in this instance. It just seems like I have been reading a number of statements like this over the past few months, and it is really getting old and unwelcome.

I agree with you. Even if there was no issue, if you move to another cms just do it without announcing here. This need only be known to those associated with your site.

This thread is a mixed blessing. What was wrong that made katim110 switch?

It appeared that there was plenty of community support.
Some dream of success, while others wake up and work for it.

Why have a gripe, katim110 only said thank you to various people and a good bye to all.

There should be no gripe with this, it's better than just disappearing.

So why not announce it, XOOPS should have nothing to fear, people use XOOPS for a reason as do others with a different system.

Perhaps katim110 didn't leave because of issues with XOOPS, perhaps they left because Joomla had something to offer which XOOPS doesn't, I know they have a fair few commercial options amongst other things.

I certainly didn't see anything in katim110 that was trying to bring down the community, I just saw a sincere thank you message. gee people are too sensitive sometimes.

Perhaps it's because somebody on the Joomla team would get fired if submissions to their module repository was closed for 6 months...
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

Amen to that! It's a free world and he should be able to do whatever is best for him. I wish him good luck and all the best!
