Suddenly I can't access any admin pages, all I get is a blank page.

The site itself works fine and I can login without problems but when I try to click on administration it just gives a blank page.

Can anyone suggest possible reasons, I'm panicking!

I didn't do anything at the time that could have caused the problem (I think!!!), the only thing I can think of was that earlier I did briefly delete a table of a module I'm not using (but is installed). I deleted it because I had 2 different versions of this table (one was the actual table which was empty the other was a backup older version of the table which had been saved as a different name). I wanted to switch to the older backup table so i deleted the existing table and immediately renamed the backup one so that it became the active table (its the wordpress comments table).

Does this make sense? I think this may be irrelevant to the problem but thought I should mention it.

Regardless, can anyone help?? Please!!!!!!!!

I've had the same problem a while ago. Try if you can reach the module adminstration page and de-activate the module you deleted the table of....

http://www.yourdomain.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=modulesadmin

after that you could also try to de-install that module.

Please let us know in the forum if the solution works...

Also in your cache folder remove the adminmenu.php and try and access it then.

First I tried to reach the modules admin page but it kept saying I did not have the right to access that area.

So I deleted adminmenu.php from the cache and suddenly all was good.

Great! Glad all works! Happens sometimes here too, not really sure why. But its an easy fix :)
