Newbb forum: How to add doc files as attach and more..

I want to make two changes to my forum.
First: to allow word files (now I can only add jpg and something else I think) to be add as an attachment to topics for webmaster and registered users and

Second to allow the download of the attachments only to webmasters and registered users.
If u see my forum now you can download the file while you are an anonymous.
I don’t want that.

You can add the file extension of what ever you want in forum preferences inside admin of cbb 3.08

The permission template system should handle the download part but do not hold me to that.

If you can not stop downloads from anonymous. You could try the module doc manager instead.

I use cbb 3.05 and not cbb 3.08 and i don't know what you mean about The permission template system should handle the download part but do not hold me to that.

do you mean that i have to use a separate module to disable anonymous to download from the posts of forum messages?
Doesn't do that newbb itself??

When you add a forum to cbb 3.08 or edit a form at the bottom look for...

Allowed Extensions:'*' indicates no limititations.
Extensions delimited by '|'

I only have zip|gif|jpg setup but you should be set to

zip|gif|jpg|doc

to allow for the doc extension.

I am not sure how you would stop anonymous from downloading the attachments. The only way I know for sure is to not allow anonymous access to the forum meaning private...

I looked thru my 3.08 and there is no way to stop downloads if you can see it you can download it.

I manage to do the first question before your last post.

The problems remains the second one.
The thing is that i want people to be able to read everything in forum but download avainable only for register users.

What about the doc module u said before? where can i find it? is it a XOOPS module combatible with XOOPS 2.0.16?

xasset is the module but finding a copy will be hard. the dev quit xoops.

start here

You should start a new post for someone to share their copy of it with you.

I think this will solve your problem maybe there are other modules as well. This is the only one that comes to mind for me.
