Goodmorning. Maybe this an easy question but i don't know the exact answer.

I just want to create a custom block and put inside some code to call rss news from another site.

Let's say the site name is "test".

Do you know how can i do that?

I use GIJOE's xhld module for this.
It let's display RSS feeds from multiple sources and they can be diplayed in a block as well.

Goodmorning McDonald

So it can't work without a module ha? i mean using only a script for example.

ok i install it and after i add an rss i went to the main page and click to see if it working.
It loads a blank page. If i go to admin i can see what i have add (latest headlines) but it doesn't appear the content.

PS: I was watching TV two days ago at a greek channel called "ert3". It was a documentary about oceans something like that.
I sow the name "ROV" and i remembered your webpage. Has this anything to do with you?

In the Preferences set 'method to fetch RSS/ATOM' to 'snoopy' (default).

Then go to Modules -> xhld -> List Headlines
In 'Add Headline' enter the name of the source.
URL: the url of your source website, but not the rss feed.
URI of RSS or ATOM: the url of the rss feed.
Type of the feed: Auto
Encoding: auto detection

After submitting the rss feed, click on the button 'Update & refetch'

Example
Site Name: Scandinavian Oil-Gas
URL: http://www.scandoil.com
URI of RSS or ATOM: http://www.scandoil.no/bm~feed.xml

The example above is one of the feeds I have on my website.

And yes, I work with ROV's, subsea robots, only slightly bigger then you see on TV. The ones I operate have an average weight of 15tons, see here, and are not for science purposes.

:( maybe it's not compatible with XOOPS 2.0.16 because even if i do what you suggest it doesn't work.

if I turn the 2 blocks of this module visible the hole site doesn't appear but a blank page!
and when i click on "recent headlines" returns a page with just this "ο»Ώ"

I was thinking to use something like this from wfchannel
module
""

but it must be html to work right?

The module should work with XOOPS 2.0.16 too.

Otherwise try RSSC headline 1.14

ok i got along with it.

Just one question.

I install RSSC headline 1.14and the modules RSS Center 0.61 and Happy Linux Framework 1.01 (prerequisite to work the headline module).

Now i create a block and set it to right sight of my site.
The problem is i want to put other 2 rss from other sites but i don't want to be at the same position.

For example i want to put them at the center of my site.

So how can i make a specialty block for them?

and a last: the RSS Center-->Block Manage goes me to a white page! why?

Hi
I read your postings with interest and I wonder if I could use this module to show for example:

http://www.shareit.com/product.html?productid=142178&cookies=1&affiliateid=200060965

Or how could I use XOOPS to create a website to show software products from ShareIt with RSS/XML feeds.

Sorry if I am a bit of topic but these are RSS / XML feeds as well.

Thanx for your help.

Sas
