Most XOOPS sites use at least one module (Protector) from GIJOE. So his statement is quite a shock for XOOPS community, althought his decison was not so unexpected. Hopefuly XDT would learn something from this.

...OK...

I have to declare "I don't support xoops.org anymore", now.

Very unfortunate, but it was inevitable that the two systems would start to diverge and that he would have to make a choice.

He has contributed a lot to XOOPS, I don't know if he reads this site but anyway a big thanks to GIJOE from me.

Edit: It appears he's not a happy man - full thread here. I would suggest that perhaps the template compatibility issue he wants fixed be seriously looked at...there's been a notice on his site about it for a very long time now (just over a year).

This is a serious issue for many of us - most of us use GIJOE's Protector module at the very least. It is gratifying to see the post about v3.13 working but this could be it for us here on xoops.org.

Please can the core devs speak to GIJOE and address his concerns in the next release? Seems to me that this is every bit as important as other work.

I second this!!! Let's work together to make sure that his modules work on XOOPS.

Speaking as a none-coder... wouldn't the simplest solution to be to revert to the past version of the code, or even the piece of code which has been in "extras" for the past 3 releases - until a solution which worked in all cases can be made?

I can understand the need for fixing old XOOPS code.. but not at the expense of important modules not working.

I'm not sure what the issue is here. From the forum post I get the impression that from XOOPS 2.0.14 the default template set uses the template files, not the database?.

Sorry, is this a xoopsinfo.com issue (modules) or a xoops.org issue (core)?

This is a sourceforge issue - ie development.

Hence my thread above.
