Is there a Radio Program Schedule out there?
If it is not yet, I am going to develop this module by myself.

And is there a XOOPS Module development documentation in CHM version?

Hi doniking,

I'm presuming you mean a module you can add your own schedule to, if that's the case then perhaps a calendar module could achieve this.

I was thinking ExtCal, which if you have multiple stations this would also allow you to colour code them in a category way.

This is the most actively developed calendar module at the moment and can be found @

http://www.zoullou.net

With regards to docs for module development, there is various information scattered about the place and there is an official location you can post and manage your projects.

http://dev.xoops.org
http://xoopsdocs.net

You may also wish to look @

http://helpxoops.info

If you have any other question or need help, then you can always post them in the forum, I'm sure there are some very knowledgeable people whom can help.

If your going to archive radio shows, you could look at modules such as @

WF-Downloads -http://smartfactory.ca
Webshow - to stream as well -http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?webshow

There are other modules too such as X_Movies.

Hope this is of some help.
Kind Regards.
Tom

previously, I used piCal. But it repeatly insert multiple data into db for recurring events. for 48 events recur everyday for 10 years It made about 60MB just for the xoops_pical_event table.
It's not very effective way if most of our events are recurring event with no end date using piCal.
I really want to create this module like this:

http://kstk.org/modules/program_schedule/

It's cool, isn't it?
I wonder how to do that, I mean for that colspan table.
And it will has a block contains "on air" program and "coming up" program, include the picture or maybe webcam pics from the studio.

For module developer's guide, I am looking for CHM format coz I don't have internet connection at my home.
I am connected to internet at internet cafe (some public internet access)

Thanks for your reply.

Well it looks like that program schedule module was developed by the following people:

http://www.picharddesign.com

Quote:
Public Radio Content Management System (PRCMS™) 2.0.13.2
PRCMS? is a cost effective content management system geared towards small and mid-sized public radio station web sites. Based on the XOOPS architecture, PRCMS offers most of the features you would find in CMS systems costing from $5,000 to $7,000 per year for half the cost.

In addition to the standard modules listed here, we offer custom programming to suit your stations specific needs.
• Web Pledge / E-commerce
• Program Schedule Module
• Audio Archive
• Local News Section
• Community Calendar
• Photo Scrapbook
• Listener Survey
• Merchandise Sales
• Streaming Audio
• Changeable Site Themes

I also found another XOOPS website which is for radio:

http://www.pro-fm.net/modules/pro-fm/

With the docs, you can always save them to disc, or in the case there web pages then copy them to note pad, and then to disc.
Kind Regards.

yes you're right.
and it looks like a commercial module integrated with whole XOOPS site.

I decide to create my own module like their Program Schedule and will be announced here soon.
I hope my brain could understand how XOOPS modules work coz i am not a PHP expert especially in OOP.

do you have any advice about which class and XOOPS files should I see If I want to make a simple Program Schedule module like

Either look at the dev site or docs site I mentioned originally, and you can ask questions in these forums too.

Don't forget you can use dev.xoops.org to manage your project.

If you don't have access to the net from home, but perhaps have a half decent computer you could always set up php/mysql on that machine and then install XOOPS so you can have a play with it at home.

I'm not sure if it's still developed but there is xamp, which will run on your computer from home whilst you develop something.

You can find the details at the following url

http://sourceforge.net/projects/xampp/

Quote:
XAMPP is a very easy to install Apache Distribution for Linux, Solaris, Windows and Mac OS X. The package includes the Apache web server, MySQL, PHP, Perl, a FTP server and phpMyAdmin.

Then install xoops.
Kind Regards.

Ohh there's also:

XSAS - XOOPS stand alone server

Again I'm sure about development on this anymore thought?
