I installed my logo in place of the XOOPS logo and it is crunched. The banner is OK. Can anyone explain how to stretch it out? The original size is 250x55. I went into 'themes'>'default'>'theme.html' and made the change but it didn't change on the site.

Any suggestions as to what I did wrong and where to make the change?

You can do one of two things:

1. Go into your admin section and look for

Preferences-->System-->General Settings

Click General Settings

Look for "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?" and set it to yes.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and Submit.

Be sure to go back and turn the option back to no after you've made your changes.

2. Go into Modules-->Administration

Update the system module.

Delete the contents of the templates_c directory particularly the theme.html.php file, reload you site and the changes should show.

First we need to know which XOOPS version he is using
second it looks as if he is trying to change the logo for his THEME not the system template as he said that the banner is ok which is not with the system admin so why would he update the system module?

If you are using 2.0.16 then all you have to do is

Admin >> System >> Preferences >> General Settings

change the setting for "Check templates for modifications ?" to Yes.

Once you are happy with your themes look go back in and change it back.

with 2.0.16 there should be no need to "Delete the contents of the templates_c directory"

The 'admin' idea worked perfectly. I had the 'update module setting' on 'no' Made the changes and set it back to 'no'

Thanks to all. You are the best!
