Has anyone ever used MS Access with the mySQL plugin to switch XOOPS databases to another server? I can import my whole XOOPS databases into Access. I've done that before.

There is a function to export as well, but I haven't tried it yet.

I was just wondering if anyone here has tried it or is it a waste of time? Will it ruin the database?

If no-one has attempted it, I will be trying it soon.

If it keeps the whole structure intact it SHOULD make switching hosts easier. Just import, export, download, upload, change mainfile.php and BAM it's done. I have to switch 4 sites to a new server and new domain names by January.
Magick can never be restrained, but when freely given is thrice regained!

Re: Changing Hosts

I think it would be better to keep the MySQL native. coverting back and forth from different types of databases could (maybe) cause problems. Why not use a regular MySQL dump? And import the sql file on your new host?
