I am getting terribly confused again and just had an anxiety attack. I am using the 2.0.15. When the new XOOPS release comes out will or won't 2.0.15 be easily updated? I am getting ready to fix up another site. I have noticed many more people using 2.2.4 and have even heard of
2.2.5 (2.2.5 ???). I was under the impression and the XOOPS downloads page says that 2.0.X is the recommended version. I just don't want to put all the work necessary to get the new site up and running with 2.0.15 if I really should be using 2.2.4 for easier transition later.
Could someone please refresh my memory or point me to some R E C E N T news on the versions. Please.

Technically you can use either version. It will just take you longer to get to 2.3 if you decide to go with 2.2.4

The only real reason you would want to use 2.2.4 is if there are specific modules that will on;y work with 2.2.4

I wouldn't imagine that 2.2.5 would be an actual release. If it were I am sure it would only be for security reasons.

All of the latest and greatest will be written for the 2.0 -> 2.3 path not the 2.2 -> 2.3 path

Use 2.0.15 - Make sure you apply the form fix in my sig.

2.2.5 will be an update release for 2.2.4 - fixing a few issues, but other than that - it will probably be the last release on 2.2.x

Other than any maintainance releases - 2.0.15 will probably be the last major release of 2.0.x, and the next will be 2.3 (when finished). 2.2.x users will probably have to wait until 2.4 which is a while off, before they can update.

Okay I think I got it down again. Thanks a bazillion! Just to be sure I would like to paraphrase what I read. Please let me know if I am on the right track.

Stick with the 2.0.15 which is a 2.0.x version. It sill upgrade to the next release which will probably be 2.3 and don't forget that form fix. Yes? No?
