He he, first casualty of the "no core module" policy, uh?

You must install a cont module on your site. Look for edito, smartsection, news, page, and many other you will find in the module repository.

Check in documentation to know how to install them on your site.

Grab the XOOPS administration manual from the documentation lonk on the left, head to the FAQ section to learn about modules, blocks and themes. HTH ...Oh and where you downloaded 2.0.14 from - if it was from our own sites it also has directions to reliable sources for modules in the release notes:

Quote:
Modules

The packages do not contain any module apart from the system one. You are invited to browse the XOOPS modules repository to get some.
Some of the best modules can be found in the following locations:

* Herve Thouzard's site (News, mydownload, shortcuts...)
* Panther Software Publishing (xProject, xAsset)
* Smart Factory (SmartSection and many others)
* XForge site (CBB forum, Wordpress, MediaWiki...)

We also highly recomment the installation of the Protector module which will bring additional protection and logging capabilities to your site.
See release notes here

EDIT: Seems you changed your mind while I wrote this post....

well... thats up to you - but with XOOPS you get to pick and choose what goes in - it all comes down to how unique and individual you want your site to be and what content you want to put on it. Throgh the module section of the FAQ you will find links to a module playground to check them out and links to tutorials to make life easier for beginners. You have successfully installed XOOPS and that was a great start...why throw it away?....but like i said...it is up to you. It will take you time and patience to learn your XOOPS well to make it work for you. If you want more automation then it may not be the best choice. Those of us who do like it like it because of it's flexibility - but it does take time to learn.

First place to startFAQ Beginners first steps...then work your way from there.
