Which module do i need for news on mainpage?

im using news 1.4 but it does not show any news on the mainpage. is there a setting that i need to change or can this module not do such a thing. please tell me what i need to do.

If you want the news module to be your start page, you need to go into your preferences in the drop down menu and select News where it asks:

Module for your start page
[size=x-small]If God is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining.[/size]

You can also use blocks to show content from your news module.
Do a search first if you need help with that.

i did the block thing but the news doesnt display like it does on xoops.org. like its displays the link for the news item.

Bandit-X has a pre-release of xmspotlight 1.02 that allows you to achieve that layout. You can do a search here or visit XoopsGroups.

just want to share my problem here. don't want to open new thread.

i want to put forum as my start page and its goes well..
but 1-2 days ago its goes blank when it redirected tohttp://.../modules/newbb/

why this happened...
if i change my start page to other modules or none. i can access my homepage.
and the link to forum is working well

Perhaps you should start a new thread, this really doesn't apply to the "newbb as start page" problem you are having.

Give us your Xoops, PHP, MySQL, and newbb versions. Any recent changes? Have you turned on PHP-Debug as described in this very helpful FAQ?.

Someone will be able to help you more if you provide detailed information
