Font problem maybe ??

When I went to your site, I could see the characters, then displayed the source code, and could _just_ see those characters before this html code

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

so, .. at a guess those characters are being echoed from index.php, before the html code. Search through your files locally (on your PC), and look for the character ""
NO to the Microsoft Office format as an ISO standard.

It looks like an encoding error.

Editing and saving files can cause a conflict in character sets and encoding.

Kind of complicated problems but one I've learned to resolve working with a Japanese and English website.

Did you edit any templates recently?
