Hello, yes I am a newbie to XOOPS and I love it. I might have jumped in head first as after I saw XOOPS I changed all 8 of the websites I am responsible for over to it.

I have looked all over for help but I can not find anything that can help me fix my problem.

I have a website just for my staff and it was working fine. I was the only admin for the website and I always had the administration menu link come up when I logged in.

I installed a new module, IPB Module --- Message Board, the board went up fine and I was able to set it all up. I went to bed and when I woke up and went to that website I was able to login in, but no Administration Menu link.

I thought ok I screwed up the password, so I followed the instructions regarded changing my password. I went into MyPhp Admin no problems, changed the password and logged in again and still no Administration Menu link.

OK I have a back up of the site that is a week old and worst cast I am guessing I have to go to that.

But is there any way to get that link back? Or have i screwed up big time.

Xoops Info

Website URL:
http://radiojunction.net/staff

XOOPS Version:
XOOPS 2.0.13.2

XOOPS Theme:
karate_redux_blue

XOOPS Template Set:
default

PHP Version:
4.3.11

MySQL Version:
4.0.25-standard

Server Software:
Apache/1.3.34 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.25 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP-CGI/0.1b

User's Browser:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1

I can't turn on debug because I cant get to system admin.

I can assure you this is my website, and it is password protected as it is a staff site. I realize that what I am asking for is not information that would be posted in public.

SO if needed here is my email address dan.brewington@radiojunction.net

Any help please.

Hi Bandit X and thank you for getting back to me.

OK I did what you said in the order that you posted and I got:

"You don't have the right to access this area
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here"

Any other ideas ?

Well after search both these forums and the forums over at http://www.bbpixel.com I can not for the life of me figure out what is wrong.

Everything on the site is working fine and smooth there is just no place for me as the only admin to login.

admin.php gives me the message You do not have rights to access this area.

So I am one step away from having to reinstall my site from a March 3rd back up.

Any suggestions at all before I do this?

Go to phpMyAdmin and check the [prefix]_groups_users_link table. There should be a row with groupid = 1 and uid = 1 (assuming your userid is 1).

It's a long shot, but I guess it's something to check.

-Juliette- thanks for getting back to me. I went to the place you said and all the group ids are 2

So I am guessing somehow the group 1 got deleted ?

I never use myphpadmin, adn I am the only admin on mysite so I don't know how it could change.

I do not see where I would add a user group 1 which I am guessing is for ADMIN.

Any help ?

Just an update. I couldnt figure outnwhat happen to the admin link as stated in this thread.

SO I used a back up of my database and uploaded it to my site and everything is working again.

So that points to a problem in the sql db I am guessing.]

Thanks to everyone that messaged me with help.

And remember before you do something new to your website
BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP :)
