What document management module is currently working with 2.2.3a or 2.4?

I am working with documanager 1.1 but am having problems. No brainer you'd think, but can't get the pathing correct.

MY pathing
/public_html/folder/modules/docmanager/repository/
I have set permissions to 777 to be sure.

Anyway I need a module to hold pdf documents. Is there another docs module that works with the latest 2.2.3a line? I would settle for help getting dms working for me.

WF-Sections with the pdf support hack works! I tried this before but couldn't get it working. Works good. Now I just need to correctly setup.
