Suddenly my Polls aren't working. Several visitors have said they voted but the vote count is not advancing. I've updated the module, checked the database, updated the system module, and deleted and restarted a new poll - its counts three votes and stops.

Any suggestions?

Yes, it is quite alright to bump your post as you have done.

The notices just indicated that the way the script was coded is not in line with the best practices of the newer versions of PHP. It does not, however, effect functionality.

Unfortunately, I don't see anything there that catches my eye, so I'm going to bump your thread in the hopes that someone else may be able to help.

I tested the new "Poll" module even thought I know its basically the same as Xoopspoll - and I get the same result. "Poll" counted seven votes before it stopped.

Since I can't get these modules to work correctly, can anybody suggest an open source program that I can incorporate on my index page?

You said the poll counts seven before stopping? Are you attempting to count results from the same people, as I believe these will be ignored?

No, most people get a message saying they have already voted if they attempt to vote more than once. I had ten people email to say they voted and when they check the results the count had not changed. Last night I had a friend (who has not previously voted) visit the site and vote - the result count is still at seven! The poll has worked perfectly in the past but with all the php changes and ISP changes I may be missing something. I just can't seem to narrow it down.

I have just started up my site. Using XOOPS v 2.0.13.1. Polls is version 1. I to am having the same problem only sooner. Mine stops at a count of one. I create a poll to which I can vote and it shows one. I then come to work and try and I get the message thank you for voting but the poll is not reflecting the new vote. If I try again I get the message Sorry you have already voted. So it appears the module is properly only allowing one vote per IP however its not visually updating the poll count. Is there perhaps a newer version of polls I could try? I have tried several of the other types of poll/survey modules from the Module Repository but they are really not what I am looking for. The one i have is what I would really like to sue if I could only get it to work properly.

At the risk of stating the obvious - have you checked your cache settings? One thing you could try is to clear your cache and see if it updates.
