email address keeps adding a "."

when a user writes an email address in a post like noname@domain.com it automatically is adding a . to the end of the email so it says noname@domain.com.

how do I get rid of it?

the website in question is www.volcanoboy.com and is using the newbb 2.3 module

sounds like a bug, perhaps in the function that automatically converts email address text to mailto links?
