Did you install the contact and news module?

In XOOPS 2.0.x they come with the main package and you just need to go into administration --> modules and install them.

If you use a XOOPS 2.2.x they are not included and you need to copy them from a 2.0.x package and upload them to your website. Then install them the same way.

That navigation bar in the theme you installed could be harcoded into the theme itself and may need to be edited to reflect your sites layout.

Once you have your prefered modules installed and runnin, just open the theme.html and edit the links to yoursite.tld/modules/module_name

Hope this helps some.
