How do I set private forums in the latest CBB?

On old XOOPS NewBB had a posibility to add user by user to forum manually if I'm not mistake (but I probably am).

If there's no such function then I think I speak for a big majority when I say it sucks...

No you have always added group by group. For a private forum you will need to create a custom group, give that group access to the forums you want only. Then add the users to the custom group that you want to be able to use it.

I think the first version of newbb would let you add user by user, but since newbb2 (and later CBB) its been by group only.

As JD says - creating a custom group would be best, and this would also allow access to other possibilities - such as an information block only these people could view etc...
