I've modified my theme, moved the 'Side Block-Right' column in a extra table I made next to the 'Center Block-Right' column. This opens up a new column on the right side which I want to use for the 'Recent News'block. This will be a permanent spot for this block.

At this point I have a problem...
how do I make the content of this block appear? Is there a code I should use? If so: which? Or is there another solution?

sounds difficult.

I think XOOPS is kind of modelled around it's block structure.

You'd need to set permissions etc...

Wouldn't it be easier to just have the Recent News block in a normal position (center or right etc...)?

That would be easier but not what I want :)

Well, XOOPS have now 5 default placeholders for blocks. Do you have all used and added one more, or you just doesn't think about "move one placeholder into unusual location"?
Adding new placeholders isn't hard task, only editing and placing block in new location will be slightly tricky
