Custom Home Page and Module as Home Page

Can someone point me in the right direction to change the homepage to a particular module, e.g. the News module.

Under Systems...Click Preferences and then General Settings. Then Change the Start Module under Module for your start page.

Remember to click the Go! button at the bottom of the page.

Thank you so much. You don't know how long I'd been searching for such a simple option !

Now, perhaps you can tell me how to HIDE a particular module from being listed in the menu? e.g. I have activated the News module and want it as the home page, but don't want to show it again under it's own name in the menu.

In System Admin - Modules set the weight for the news module to 0 and it will hide it in the main menu. If you just want to change the name, in the text box below the module icon change it to whatever you want.

Thanks again! Much appreciated.

One more thing:

- how do I hide a particular menu item listed in the Main Menu, e.g. "My Messages" (which is also listed under "InBox" under the User Menu), "My Profile" (which gives you almost the same thing as "View Account" in the User Menu, except for the search). The idea is to remove duplicate ways of getting to the same options.
