I went to my site today (http://www.teamlandsharks.com) and found just a blank white page. At first I was stunned, but then I tried to troubleshoot what was wrong.

Everything looks okay when I go to my ftp client and poke around.

I finally was able to login to my admin account (by going to my gallery at http://www.teamlandsharks.com/modules/xoopsgallery). But when I tried to open admin.php I got another blank page.

I looked around in the forums and learned that sometimes things get fixed by deleting adminmenu.php. I did that and was able to access the admin pages. I turned on php debugging and went to the home page. I got the following error:

Please let me know what I should do to troubleshoot and fix this problem!

Look into the template pical_todays_schedule.html and check if any smarty-tags are not written correctly.

Perhaps the <{ is missing somewhere?

UPDATE:

Now I can't access the admin menu anymore. When I try to login, it says that this is my first time accessing the admin menu. It then says:

Warning [PHP]: fopen(/home/teamlan/public_html/cache/adminmenu.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in file include/cp_functions.php line 425

Then it gives me the following php error:

Actually, there isn't a file with that exact name. In fact every file in the templates_c folder has a name that starts with a bunch of gibberish. Have I been hacked?

You have no pical-module installed? Or did you made a deinstall of pical? Try to delete the files from templates_c.

No, you haven't been hacked. Those weird names are normal for files in templates_c.

Update: the folder cache needs chmod 777. Did you check this?

Now . . . can anyone tell me what happened and how I can avoid this in the future? I am sure that the permissions on the cache folder are my fault. I was fiddling around trying to fix this problem and I probably messed that part up, but why were the files in templates_c messed up?
