News 1.42 - Recent News Block

I am using News 1.42 on XOOPS 2.2.2 – When using the Recent News Block, The block only shows Title and number of views. I cannot get any of the Article text to show, despite having the Teaser set at 25 characters, nor does the posting date display.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?
XOOPS 2.0.18/ PHP 5.0 / MySQL 4.1.21-standard

I have the same problem.

when I set or increase the teaser, the block actually disappears and I have to update the module to get it to display again (without the teaser)

I solved this problem by uninstalling the module, re-uploading and re-installing news 1.4.2

I also backed-up the stories table first, to keep my existing news, and restored it afterwards (updating the topicid field to match the new topic id that I created)

happy to say, it's all working

Ahh, I'm using XOOPS 2.0.13.2, not 2.2.2

Your problem may have a different cause from mine.

perhaps someone else knows the answer?

I am having the same problem. I also noticed that looking at the templates...I am missing the "news_block_new.html". When I try and "generate it", I get an error: Selected file does not exist)

Any help would be appreciated.
