hey people...

ive set up XOOPS on my site and i am thinking about using it for our community but ive ran into a small hitch...

i put it all together using firefox and tweaked it all until it was looking nice then i checked it in i.e and it is absoluty enormous ..

so how would i fix this?

This is a common webdesign issue, nothing specific to XOOPS. MSIE renders styles not quite the way the W3C intended them to be rendered, most imortantly widths and the box model are threaded differently from the (standards compliant) Firefox.

Sadly, the only solution I've found for ensuring that sites look the same in most browsers, is to have three browsers running at a time while I'm designing the site. My normal routine is to make an edit, view the page in all three browsers, repeat until done.

This is very tedious, and not always necessary, but if compatibility is important, and it is, then it is a routine you may want to consider adopting.

Browsers I test with:
Firefox 1.0.7+
IE 6.0+
Opera 8.5+
